Do you want to start going to the gym, but don't have the will to?

Strength is a matter of a made up mind. - John Beecher

Today I went to the gym and ran for an hour, according to the treadmill stats I ran for 8km. By this summer I have set a goal for myself to be able to run 10km under an hour. I usually run lightly for 30 minutes daily and lift some weights(not to build muscles, but to tone my body); so this will be a major challenge getting 10km under an hour and I am very excited in challenging myself! Below are some of my own top motivations:

  1. Challenge yourself!
By challenging myself and winning over my own challenge encourages me and inspires me to continue challenging myself.

  2. Minor and achievable goals
By giving myself minor goals makes me want to continue working on exercising until I meet my final major goal: the self-challenge!

  3. The positive after-math feeling from a workout
After each workout or gym class I feel productive and proud of myself for making myself stronger and I feel great afterwards. It's a high!

  4. Gym partner
Get yourself a gym partner so you can inspire and challenge each other, this way you will connect working out with something positive - like having a good friend workout with you while you socialize.

  5. Have fun!
If you are not enjoying the workout type, then try something else. The idea is to move and running might not be something you enjoy, then try dancing or lifting weights while you talk to your gym partner; moving and networking at the same time!

  6. Join a social network
Join communities like Nike+, where you share your running states; or other fitness networking sites where you can share your experience and inspirations.

  7. Healthy lifestyle
The healthier you are, the longer you live. You will be able to enjoy playing with your exciting grandchildren in the future.

  8. Your future slimmed/toned up shape
Might sound superficial, but most people get encouraged when they see a nice shirt or blouse - because the visualization of themselves wearing this shirt/blouse makes them confident; the same works with ones physical appearance.

  9. Marathon
Sign up for a smaller local marathon and you will see how much you will run compared to just working out normally.

That's my motivations and I hope they helped. If you have some more inspiring methods of working out share them as comments below!
Synopsis:

Attorney Andy Carpenter's legal maneuvers are legion in and out of the courtrooms of Paterson, New Jersey. A talented lawyer who knows how to play all the cards, he is torn between mending a marriage that no longer works and growing attached to a beautiful, no-nonsense private investigator. Besides his love for sports, Andy also adores Tara, a golden retriever clearly smarter than half the lawyers who clog the courts of Passaic County.

Then one day the fun stops.

Open & Shut is David Rosenfelt's first novel and I was quite intrigued as to how the book would turn out. I'm a John Grisham hardcore fan, but reading Rosenfelt was a pleasant surprise. I can read any other book within any other category, but within the legal category I am a die hard John Grisham fan. Rosenfelt made me like Andy Carpenter, instead of getting suspicious of him - which I usually get when reading the lead "hero" role. Kudos to Rosenfelt! Would definitely recommend him to my inner network and will continue reading some more of his books.

I conclude this review with a solid 4 out of 5.

Next book review will be on "The Social Contract, Or Principles of Political Right" by Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I will be writing a longer review about it, since it a factual book. Growing up my favorite quote was from Rousseau:

Quote:
"I have always said and felt that true enjoyment can not be described"

True, except by talented writers!
I love coffee, no I love cappuccino. No, let me rephrase everything! I love Starbucks! Can't go a day without drinking coffee or cappuccino. Can't get a good start without my caffeine. Every second day I eat a muffin or donut with it, yum! Every second day I eat something more healthy, like oatmeal with blueberries. That's what I had today with home made Starbucks coffe. My friend told me that blueberries contain antioxidants, so I'm trying to add blueberries for my breakfast; in oatmeal, bran flakes and pancakes.

I just ate and had some time over, so I'm just surfing online checking out potential houses for sale before heading to work right now.

After work, I got gym class with my colleague, Mark Jobs; people always ask him if he's Steve Jobs nephew and try to ask him if he can give them a free iPhone or a MacBook. Mark's so funny - he always has the best comeback to them; he says something funny about an apple or something. That guy's awesome!

Oops, just realized that today's the day with the most trafficked rush hour, so gotta go, need to pass by Starbucks for a Nonfat Venti Cappuccino! Have a nice day all and enjoy the sun!
When creating your songs, you should start with a beat. Some of my friends start writing lyrics without any beats, that's more common for rappers since they freestyle; but I like to build up the base of the song first and then apply the text. That's my recommendation, I will get back to you with some more later on, once I'm done studying for my med exam - which I have in two weeks. I feel very prepared, so I will go through my notes a few more times during these two weeks! Looking forward to my results in 4 weeks(2 weeks after the exam).

Although, in 2 months our band will be preforming as the introduction band - singing 3 songs(!) - at a major gig at this stadium:

I don't know what I look more forward to, my exam results in a month or our first major gig in 2 months. Everything just feels like a wonderful dream. Wish me luck! Grin
I'm exhausted, but I'm still on a high because today was one of those amazing days where everything just worked out as I expected! Everything just went perfect today. I had a feeling on exactly what everyone was about to say before they said it and my life left like a movie someone wrote a great script for! Just an awesome day with other words.

Another excellent thing that happen today was that my boss announced the company trip this winter and that's to go skiing at Whistler Blackcomb! I'm unbelievably excited! It has been too long since I went skiing and that was two years ago at a social gathering for my "Sport & Adventure Network" and we went to Italy. Here are some images from then:

The resort was breathtaking! My "Sport & Adventure Network" friends are going back for a reunion this summer to Australia to go sky-diving. Looking forward to that too!
